121 (1)–129 (9) Floods, Etc.
Bhikkhus, there are these 4 floods. What 4?
1) The flood of sensuality,
2) the flood of existence,
3) the flood of views,
4) the flood of ignorance….

130 (10) Higher Fetters
Bhikkhus, there are these 5 higher fetters. What 5?
1) Lust for form,
2) lust for the formless,
3) conceit,
4) restlessness,
5) ignorance.
- These are the 5 higher fetters.
The 7 factors of enlightenment are to be developed for direct knowledge of these 5 higher fetters, for the full understanding of them, for their utter destruction, for their abandoning.
What 7?
Here, Bhikkhus, a Bhikkhu develops the enlightenment factor of mindfulness … he develops the enlightenment factor of equanimity, which is based upon seclusion, dispassion, and cessation, maturing in release.
These 7 factors of enlightenment are to be developed for direct knowledge of these 5 higher fetters, for the full understanding of them, for their utter destruction, for their abandoning.
Floods, bonds, kinds of clinging,
Knots, and underlying tendencies,
Cords of sensual pleasure, hindrances,
Aggregates, fetters lower and higher.
